Whether it’s your first time to finally land your dream job or the fifth time to crack job interview, it is always best to give out a good impression and show your confident self. Job interviews can be distressing but you should not let it be. Here are some tips on how to effectively present yourself for a job interview.

• Know everything before you go. Learn anything there is to be learned about the company and the position you are applying for.
• Look Sharp. Dress your best before appearing for an interview. Be neat and slick. Avoid smoking or chewing gum.
• Get ready with your self-promotion. Collect all your achievements and skills and be ready to relate them during the interview.
• Practice beforehand, to answer broad questions that are usually asked by an interviewer. You can google up some of the questions normally asked during job interviews.
• Be on Time. Show up for your interview on time or earlier. You wouldn’t want to keep your interviewer waiting. How capable you are in managing your time will leave an impression for your interviewer.
• Be courteous. Get your interviewer’s name and greet him or her with a smile and a firm handshake.
• During the interview, when you are being asked with a question, give them an answer that is straight to the point.  Don’t complicate and overdo things. Communicate in a simple way.
• Do not hesitate to ask questions about the organization and the position you are applying for, and do not hesitate to engage in a conversation as long as you do not overdo it.
• When you’re done, do not leave the room without thanking your interviewer.
• Lastly, do not sit and wait for a call. Send them a follow-up note inquiring about the result of the interview.
